VOTE For CHANGE !!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Much has been revealed. Much has been said. Tonight (19/06/09) we pray for a closure to our church's saga which has gone on long enough. Whatever the outcome may be, it is our prayer that each one will leave the church tonight knowing that God is in control of the whole situation. Things may or may not turn out the way we have planned. It really does not matter because the Church belongs to God Himself. The Bible says, “A MAN’S HEART PLANS HIS WAY, BUT THE LORD DIRECTS HIS STEPS.” Proverbs 16.9

We would like to pen down 2 portions of Scriptures as a reminder and an encouragement to all, as we attend the AGM tonight.

PROVERBS 16
1 The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the spirits.
3 Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.
4 The LORD has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom.
5 Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.
6 In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil.
7 When a man's ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Better is a little with righteousness, Than vast revenues without justice.
9 A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.

Romans 8: 28 – 39 - More Than Conquerors
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all— how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died— more than that, who was raised to life— is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God bless us all. Amen

***********************************************************

The time and opportunity has come for all Calvarites to vote for a change at the coming AGM on this Friday, 19th June 2009 at 7.00 pm in DH. It will be a historical event, whichever way it pans out.

The last one and a half years has been a trying time for members. Members have been deluged with issues after issues. There appears to be no end to the exposure of questionable practices, irresponsible management, unscriptural conduct and poor stewardship by the Board of Deacons and Senior Pastor (SP).

What started as a ripple in calm waters has turned into a tsunami. Many of the issues raised could have been easily resolved, had SP and the Deacons exercised a little bit of humility and listened to the members. Instead, they took a confrontational stand and went on a warpath that now makes it difficult for them to retreat gracefully.

In any organization, both in the Christian world and the secular world, the Chief Executive or the Head and his Board are always held accountable when things go wrong. From the time of Adam and Eve, God has always held the Head of the home responsible and accountable. The Church is no different.

The power and authority to make changes has always remained with the Head, in this case, SP and the Deacons. Change must always come from the top down. As members, there is only so much we can do, so much noise we can make. However, at this coming AGM on Friday, there lies a small window of opportunity for the members to initiate (not make) that change that our Church so badly needs.

Every Calvarite seeking greater transparency and better governance in our Church should exercise their vote wisely and prayerfully this Friday. Every Calvarite who wants to see the restoration of truth, righteousness and God’s glory in our Church should come out this Friday and make their stand.

How then shall the members vote on this coming Friday?

We hope the following thoughts will be of help in your decision-making. In coming out with this advisory, we have gotten feedback from a fairly large group of members. With so many resolutions to be passed at this AGM and with such a diverse group of members, there is bound to be differences in opinions. Here we attempt to put together the thoughts of many concerned members. It is our hope that members will take the opinions expressed here and ask our Heavenly Father for wisdom and guidance to do the right thing. Many have started fasting and praying for the next three days. Our prayer is that God will bind together in spirit and come Friday, we will be bold to do the right thing and VOTE WISELY.

I. Passing of the Minutes of the previous AGM and EGMs (Vote: NO)

From the feedback received, there appears to be numerous errors and omissions in the 3 minutes which will likely be raised by members at the AGM. As the minutes do not totally reflect what actually transpired at the 3 meetings, (namely AGM on 28 March 2008, EGM on 15 August 2008 and EGM on 4 April 2009) therefore, all 3 minutes should be rejected and not allowed to be passed, unless acceptable amendments are made to the minutes.

II. Acceptance of Church Accounts (Vote: YES)

Although there are many questions the members can and may raise this Friday, on the accounts of the Church, Missions Dept and Extended Ministries, we can accept the Accounts and Report of the Auditors.

III. Acceptance of Church Departments’ Reports (Vote : YES)

The Departments’ Reports should be accepted as there are no major issues or matters of concern to raise.

IV. Election of Deacons

This is one of the most important agenda for this AGM. After witnessing the ineffectiveness and nonchalant attitude of the current Board of Deacons, it is time for Calvarites to put their feet down and vote out the retiring Deacons who are seeking re-election. It is time to “do away with the old and bring in the new’.

Although all the 8 nominees for the 4 Deacon positions have been endorsed or perhaps, hand-picked by SP, there is nothing the members can do except to pick the best of the lot. The expectation of the members and the events of the past year will, hopefully, make the newly elected Deacons more conscious of their spiritual and moral calling and heed the call for greater transparency, accountability and good governance.

The nominations for Deacons at this coming AGM are:-

1. Bernard Loke Yue Heng (new) (Vote: FOR)
2. Ngeow Zoo Gin (new) (Vote: FOR)
3. Wong Ming Yook (new) (Vote: FOR)
4. Veronica See Ah Siew (new) (Vote: FOR)

5. David Dev Peters (new) (Vote: NO)
6. Nicholas Gan Lye Hin (new) (Vote: NO)
7. Bernadette Foo Fong Lian (retiring) (Vote: NO)
8. Patrick Wong Sing Fah (retiring) (Vote: NO)

We would recommend voting in the first 4 new Deacons stated above as the initial step towards a change in the composition of our Board of deacons.

Retiring deacons, Patrick Wong (seeking re-election). Bernadette (seeking re-election) and Han (not seeking re-election) have proven to be ineffective as Deacons. Further, Patrick has been compromised in that his son’s airfare, when he went for overseas studies, was paid by the Church. His wife has also been given employment in Church as an Assistant Pastor despite not having any theological or Bible School training.

Both David Peters and Nicholas Gan are staunch supporters of SP and may not be independent. However, should any of the above top 4 nominees decides not to stand for election for any reasons whatsoever at the last minute, David should be the alternate choice. He is a lawyer, appears to be more matured and better known to the members than the relatively unknown Nicholas Gan.

Please DO NOT send in blank voting slips. Every vote counts. Your one vote can make the difference!

V. Election of Church Auditors

The nominations for Church Auditors are:-

1. Tam Kok Meng (retiring/seeking re-election) (Vote: FOR)
2. Audrey Lim Gaik Khoon (new) (Vote: FOR)

3. Chow Sang Hoe (retiring/seeking re-election) (Vote: NO)
4. Suresh Rahman (new) (Vote: NO)

VI. Resolutions to be Tabled

(For the full details and rationale, click on this link http://calvarytoday.blogspot.com/2009/06/resolutions-to-be-tabled-at-agm-on-19.html)

IMPORTANT NOTE
Please remember that the numbering to the Resolutions listed here has been assigned by us for easy reading and reference only. The sequence of the resolutions which will be tabled at the AGM may be totally different. Therefore, please pay close attention to the resolution being tabled during the AGM and vote accordingly
.

1. Proposal that all resolutions of this AGM be voted on by secret ballot. (Vote: YES)

2. Proposal that one of the Associate Pastors of the Church be appointed for the purposes of chairing this AGM. (Vote: YES)

3. Proposal for the AOG General Council to appoint a caretaker committee to manage the Church until the Church is capable of managing its own affairs. (Vote: YES)

4. Ratification of Senior Pastor’s Re-appointment. (Vote: NO)

This is the most serious of all the resolutions to be tabled. SP needs the votes of at least two-thirds of the members present at the AGM to retain his position as the Senior Pastor of Calvary. If he does not garner this level of support, he has to step down as the Senior Pastor.

If you think SP has done a wonderful job and should remain forever (because the BOD has decided that he has no retirement age), then you vote ‘yes’ in favour of this resolution. If you vote in favour, then PG will remain the Senior Pastor until he voluntarily resigns or until he goes home to the Lord. Even if he becomes senile or incapacitated or medically unfit, he cannot be removed from his position.

But if you think he has not been responsible as the Senior Pastor or he has been unscriptural in his conduct or he has abuse his position in any way or you have just lost confidence in him to manage the Church or you do not want him to be the Senior Pastor forever, then you should vote against this resolution.

We cannot agree that SP does not have a retirement age. This is the MOST UNWISE decision the BOD has made. Everyone has to retire at some point. Even God rested after 6 days of creation. The Church should not become ‘crippled’, or stifled in its growth or held to ransom by a Senior Pastor (present SP or future SP) who cannot be removed. It is certainly not God’s design for His Church to function in this manner. On this basis alone, we would vote against this resolution.

In the Kingdom of God, no one is indispensable and we know that God is not short of resources. God can provide us another Senior Pastor as quickly as He can remove one. Without question, it is also far better for the servant, that God use his people to remove His servant, rather than for God to remove His servant Himself.

Over the months, members have been bombarded with messages that warn members against touching God’s anointed and messages that have questioned our allegiance and brought on fears. Be comforted that our God is a God of peace and wisdom. Be assured that as a child of God, we are all equally anointed by God. We all have received the seal of the Holy Spirit on our foreheads that sets us apart as being equal children of God. However, please seek God’s wisdom and ask Him for direction in this matter and then, vote wisely according to your conscience and conviction.

5. Proposal for a new Constitutional Review Committee. (Vote: YES)

6. Proposal for setting up of a Truth Committee. (Vote: YES)

7. Removal of Dr Lum from Church membership to be declared null and void. (Vote: YES)

8. Closure of CalvaryToday, Berita Calvary, Calvary Kini and Calvary Unity. (Vote: NO)

This resolution is purely academic and has no power of enforceability on the owners or administrators of the blogs as the members have no locus standi on the matter. It is really up to the owners of the blogs to make that decision whether they want to close their blogs. The church also cannot vote on this as it would tantamount to infringing on the right to freedom of speech of fellow members and citizens.

Voting on this resolution is similar to voting to close down the New Straits Times or The Star. It is that ridiculous.

Blogging is legal and is even practiced by our own Prime Minister, ex-PM, churches, pastors, evangelists and millions of individuals all over the world.

If our Church is clean and our Pastors and Leaders lead righteous lives, then there is nothing to worry about. Our Pastors and Deacons should be more concerned with cleaning up their act rather than trying to silence the whistle blower. Consider the Calvary Today blog as the “thorn in the flesh” which is placed there to nudge our leaders back onto the right path.
Members should vote against this resolution.

9. Closure of CalvaryToday, Berita Calvary, Calvary Kini and Calvary Unity. (Vote: NO)

Similar comments as item 8.

10. Resolution on Review of membership rolls. (Vote: NO)

This resolution technically provides for the termination of members who do not contribute to the Church financially AND who do not attend Sunday services AND Friday prayer meetings AND Life group meetings AND are not involved in ministry.

This proposal seeks to give even more absolute powers to the BOD & SP with regards to Church Membership. If approved, this would give the BOD & SP the reason to arbitrarily sack any of the members at their whims and fancies. They do not need evidence to declare that a member did not support financially, as it cannot be proven or disputed by anyone. They do not even need to set up a Kangaroo Court to sack members. All members should strongly object to this resolution.

11. Proposed amendment to Church Constitution RULE XII: FINANCIAL
PROVISIONS, Item 3a, 3b and 3c. (Vote: YES)

This resolution is to provide for the appointment of external auditors to audit our Church accounts and should be supported.

Patrick W has been a Deacon since 1980 that's almost 30 years. When PG changed the constitution in 1985, almost 25 years ago, he already demonstrated that he, PG, wants to be a Chief Executive (CEO).

Patrick W & the 6 deacons then had failed to nip the problem in the bud, thus we now have a problem SP who has been spoilt over the years as he could get away with "murder".

Patrick W should NOT be reappointed as deacon at the coming AGM, 'cos being around for so long he is now so arrogant that he can label Calvarites as "tortoises" at an AGM a few years ago.

I pray to God that Patrick W will NOT be reappointed as deacon.

Bernadette F also should NOT be reappointed as deacon at the coming AGM, 'cos I understand that when approached by concerned Calvarites her infamous mantra had been "let God be God" & she then did nothing. Is she a deacon to serve the members or to serve PG only?

BF also justified to the TTG members that the BOD had agreed to the infamous "malicious" statement read out by all the deacons (except DL) on 6 July 2008 as PG had alleged that there were emails that claimed that "PG had plundered CC". When asked whether the BOD had asked to see the alleged email instead of just working on hearsay, BF was dumbfounded.

Looks like our BOD doesn't check out the facts & they just accept PG's words as if it was the gospel truth. BOD had been warned many times to fear God & NOT fear man (even man of God) as history has proven many many times that man of God has failed mankind.

I pray to God that Bernadette F will NOT be reappointed as deaconess.

Every vote counts. For too many years many of us have had this "tidak apa attitude" in church matters. That's why we have this current BOD, all yes men/woman of SP's. Looking at the nomination list, they do look like yes men/women but we cannot know for sure. There is still hope that they will not disappoint us.

If we don't vote, SP's ppl will and in goes PW & BF again. Vote in NEW Faces. There is still hope for us. EVERY VOTE COUNTS.

2 ladies better than 1 said...

It is good to vote in 2 ladies ie Wong Ming Yoke and Veronica See. At least they will have two voices to support each other in voicing decision. It can be pretty difficult to put forth a ladies view in the midst of a Board of majority men.

VOTE FOR A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER

Someone said if you really want change then you must be willing to do something which you have never done before. If you keep doing the same thing you keep on getting the same results – status quo.

Let your poor, wornout PG1 retire graciously, gracefully and mercifully .... not disgracefully.

The winds of change are blowing ... Time for Changing of the Guard. God is aware of all our cries.

As the leadership has been arrogant, negligent and abusive of their power and positions, our heavenly Father will raise new men and women who are after His heart to heed His calling to care for and lead the sheep.

We pray and ask that God's fire will descend upon the altars at Calvary Church to cleanse and purify His Church!

May righteousness, truth and integrity be restored to CC again.
Come Lord Jesus come and fill Your lambs again.

B)If you think he is guilty, vote AGAINST his ratification.

C)If you think he has something to hide, vote AGAINST his ratification

D)If you think you cannot trust him, vote AGAINST his ratification.

AGM Preparation Kit said...

Dear beloved members,

Please do not miss this AGM on Friday. You have been placed in Calvary Church as a member not for no reasons at all. Allow God to use us during the AGM and stand up for TRUTH, TRANSPARENCY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE.

Please pray and come prepared. Take note of the following:

1. The AGM will probably end not earlier than midnight. So please make all the necessary arrangements so that you could stay back as long as it is required. Dont let it tired it out.
Bring along coffee and snacks too but consume them outside the church. Remember to bring water to drink.

2. Have a good night rest on Thursday so that you dont feel too tired on Friday night.

3. Have a good meal before you come for the AGM but not too heavy.

4. If during the voting and the church ask us to stand up to vote on certain issues or resolutions, dont worry about who is looking. Stand up for our Lord and not for men. Dont worry about the pastors looking at us or that the whole night proceedings are being recorded. Be brave. You may want to consider sitting with those whom you know feel the same way as you.

5. If you have questions to ask, please be mentally prepared that you will be required to go right to the front of the church to do it. There could be two reasons why it will be done in this way. First to prevent those who are not brave enough to go out to the front and speak and having to face the whole church. As you know, some already find it hard to stand up and speak but it is even worse if you have to go to the front of the church to do it. All these years, the mics were placed along the church aisle but of late, they have been putting the mics at the front of the church. So dont worry, be brave. Dont be afraid of those APs or selected security men standing beside the mics.

Secondly, probably its because the church wants to have a proper video recording of all those who ask questions for their detailed scrutiny later. Fear not but maybe you may want to have proper make-up since you will be recorded.

6. Lets be civil and not shout. We are not what they want to think we are. Its the Lord's battle.

7. If you have an audio recorder, please bring them along and record the whole night proceedings. So that the minutes will be recorded accurately. I am not sure if we can video record?????

God bless you all and looking forward to seeing you all on Friday night. Lets come singing and praising the Lord and leave everything to Him for He is in control.

Distraction by weeping Pastors etc said...

Please do not allow Weeping Pastors/Deacons and one or two hard-core weeping members doing the "pastor and sister's" act to disturb or distract this Friday meeting.

There are just too many serious Church issues to direct our spiritual mind and concentration.

True Story said...

Change is greatly needed. Calvary Church needs to be delivered from the corruption, the rot, the lying, the deception and the mind-control that has taken root through the years under the questionable leadership of self-willed, covetuous, scheming shepherds.

Come on, people, VOTE FOR CHANGE!

Abuse of Power said...

Has anybody noticed in the church accounts there is an advance of RM8,000,0000 ie 8 million given to the contractor building the CCC? You know 8 million loan given in advance.

Who gave the approval for the loan to be given???
Can PG or BOD approve the loan??
Does our church constitution allow the church to give loan to any person?
How come the church members do not know anything about it??
How come BOD never ask for church members approval???
This loan has been given without the church members knowledge. How can???
If BOD can lend money to contractor, then BOD can also lend money to any other person who wants to borrow from church, right???

This will be my very last AGM or meeting in calvary. i will come to help truth and transparency stand up as a voting member.

but i beg the TTG not to create unnecessary distractions in terms of storming up and shouting etc.

we have noticed different TTG members handle the situations very calmly and diplomatically (Dato' KC, Sis Liza, Bro Gerrard, amongst others), i hope all we TTG can do it the same way.

We can win this diplomatically, without force as the Holy Spirit will enable us to.

The Lord's Battle said...

Ten Things to do When You're in a Battle

1. Stop everything and worship God
2. Praise Him for already defeating your enemy.
3. Thank Him for fighting the battle for you.
4. Ask God if there is anything He wants you to do that you are not doing.
5. Fast and pray.
6. Declare your dependence upon Him.
7. Recognise that the battle is not yours, but the Lord's.
8. Position yourself in the right place before God.
9. Refuse to have fear.
10. Quiet your soul in worship and watch God save you.

When King Hezekiah faced a strong enemy, he told his people, "Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed.. for there are more with us than with him. With him is the arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and fight our battles." 2 Chronicles 32:7-8

Let us stand firm in our faith knowing that God is deeply concerned for all that is happening in CC and He will work out His plan in a mighty way. For too long Your sheep have been neglected, mlsled and fleeced by self seeking leaders.

Lord, we praise You as our Deliverer and position ourselves in a stance of praise and worship toward You and we will surely see Your salvation for You are with us.

Hello Last change

mind your language a bit lar.. I dont think those people for truth, transparency and governance storm or shout like the way you mentioned to be fair to these 'concerned people', they were all being 'oppressed' during the last 2 EGMS. Obviously, there were people like Matthew, Chris and others who were finger pointing and shouting at the concerned members too.

I was at the EGM, at least i want to be fair, of course, all of us learned thru every experience and we can all improve or progress as we move on..

once again, whoever think that they can be so cool and calm, please lead during the question times, sometimes actions speak louder, prove yourself.

Weeping Guest Pastors 2 said...

To Distraction by weeping pastors,

U r absolutely rite in your observation. This AGM I think they will bring in a more powerful "weeping" team.

The old time Guynes- father & son team will be here. Pas Chris announced that they will be around 4 father's day. Sure they have been arranged to give a high powered message with loads of soppy drama and then followed by a "remorseful looking" SP & wife most likely in tears to get sympathy votes. They bring in preachers from the other side of the world but they won't seek help fr our local AG council just in our own backyard. How much "love" offering this time with a father & son team coming?

We better get ready tissues also for I see a "weeping" storm coming.

Abuse of Power, Again and Again said...

Despite our brave TTG members exposing, in mid 2008, that RM 1.9m was "moved" to PG's personal CIM from 2002 to 2007 (without the CC members' knowledge), our BOD has done it again - by advancing RM 4.0m to the contractor in Jul 08 (see Note 3 on Page 27 of the Annual Report) without the CC members' knowledge.

Then after the 15th Aug 08 EGM, our BOD again baltantly advanced another RM 4.0m to the contractor - RM 2.0m in Sep 08 & RM 2.0m in Oct 08.

Isn't this outrageous of them? Have they forgotten that it is us, CC members, who voted them in & that they are answerable to us & to God?

Our God Is All Knowing said...

I believe in facts and, my mantra is, documents speak for themselves. I pray that the BOD and pastoral staff are of the same opinion. But, it must be the original documents. I encountered a document which was made up (altered) to satisfy my questioning during one of postings overseas! When we go by facts, there is no need to rely on weeping.

On the RM8 million LOAN, since when is Calvary Church a financial institution? Maybe Philip Tan can explain whether this LOAN complies with BAFIA (Banking And Financial Institutions Act) or Bank Negara guidelines? I thought CC is a non-profitable organization? Why is there a need to give the LOAN to Nam Fatt? Or, nobody looked at the financials of Nam Fatt? If we had placed the RM8 million in fixed deposits, it would have earned interest for us! Do not be surprised if the response from BOD is 'this is a good testimony to Nam Fatt'.

On the TTG group, it has proven once again that the group researches and verifies information before the group publishes the information. The group explains the rationale of each resolution, the vote etc. Compare this action to the BOD's infamous message over the pulpit regarding the malicious email! That is why the TTG group is consistent in what they say vs. to the BOD or pastors.

Lastly, when did Patrick Wong's wife worked in the church? The explanation given by the auditors was that it was a perk for the staff. Does anybody have the date?

THE BOD WILL ALWAYS BE PG1’S MEN

When PG1 started his ministry in CC it was a constitutional requirement that he be RE-ELECTED YEARLY. To prove that God was effective in his ministry he had to give an annual report to the congregation prior to the re-election. The spirit behind this practice was that the Pastor and the congregation must work together in unity. Unfortunately, this practice has died imperceptibly, like many other good things in Calvary and forgotten with time.

The main reason for the election process of the Deacons is to allow the congregation to elect Godly people to represent them in the process of Church government. It is of course impractical for all 800 or 900 members to meet the Pastor in monthly meetings concerning the running of the church affairs. That is why 7 deacons are elected by them to represent them. In this way the same spirit is maintain. PG1 continues to work hand-in-hand in partnership with the church members to run a church of God.

But since the 1985 constitution this has all changed. The process of election of deacons took a subtle change for the worse without the notice of the general congregation then, and without the awareness of the many now.

ALL DEACON CANDIDATES are scrutinised personally by PG!. NOW ALL candidates whom you elect are ACTUALLY PG1’s candidates and NOT THE MEMBERS real choice. So, in effect, PG1 is no longer working hand-in-hand with the church members anymore. He has been running the church by himself and for himself and supported fervently by his own cohort of BOD. And this has been happening ever since 1985! And he has allowed you to think you are still in partnership with him.

That is reason why so many members are at odds with what PG1 is doing today. PG1 is totally out-or-touch with the feelings and the thinking of his own members.

WHAT TO DO? ONLY 3 THINGS:

1)Vote AGAINST the ratification of PG1’S re-election.

2)Vote FOR the establishment of a CONSTITUTION REVIEW COMMITTEE

3)Vote FOR the establishment of a Truth Committee

Calvarites, 19th June is going to be a historical milestone for Calvary Church. You may say, “ I am only one vote”. But if ten people say that, it is 10 votes. And if a 100, it is 100 votes.

Know this, it takes only ONE VOTE to gain a majority decision. You may be just that one!

IF THERE ARE TEARS, WHO DARE SAY THEY ARE CROCODILE??

He has acted on stage for many years
But for the Lord.
That’s Ok.
The Word is preached,
And souls are saved

Today, if tears tragically but strategically fall
With admissions of wrong
And a loudly plea for forgiveness,
Who has the authority to discern they are of the crocodile?
And who not believe the sincerity of the cries
That they are not just a bid to gain control ......one more time.

Manipulating the softness of man’s heart
......Christianly-primed

Do we have the steelly strength to postpone our forgiveness?
And let our judgements first fall??
And tear ourselves from status quo.
... a plague ..from time in memorial.

If extended ministries are not part of calvary, shouldn't they be paying rental to the church for use of the church premises and fixed assets etc? Why is it just income flowing in to extended ministries via faith promise funds but no income flows back into the church? why is it that there is so much FD and cash in CCM and CLM but yet they still need funding from church? Why is it that the salaries for these 2 ministries are so high? Why is it that coincidentally, both these ministries with the highest salaries paid out and FDs/cash maintained in their balance sheet both belong to the Guneratnam Family?

Distraction by weeping Pastors etc said...

Allow me add to Anonymous opening line "if there are tears, who dare say they are crocodile.." Whether the tears are for honest repentance or of crocodile genre is not for me to speculate. If it were to take place, I would ask why now after causing so much grieve hurt and pain and disunity to congregation over such a long period. In this instance, I'm sorry to disagree with BF's mantra of "let God do the judging".

In some of the past meetings, it had been witnessed that weepings were confined usually to the pews because some frequent-criers were there to earn frequent-crier mileage. Here I'm not speculating as the stipends are excessive in the local context and many other countries as well.

To allow weeping and shouting down a member raising an issue to go on is really a sorrowful state of poor quality chairmanship of the meeting but the intent now is crystal clear. Serious issues brought up got distracted, the ongoing discussion interrupted and the member who has raised the question at the end got no answer to a query and allowed to look real "unchristain" in front of all present. Obviously, members not present do not get to read such commotions in the report and minutes of the meetings presented at subsequent AGM.

At this coming Friday AGM, the agenda is packed like a sardine-can. Many resolutions are the same as submitted for the 15 August, 2008 EGM. But they were thrown out for reason only PG and BODs know best. Instead of taking up the resolutions, we got a big road show of top-notch legal brain and forensic accounting scientists to tell all that all's well when it was not. CIM is established a private entity and what's given is given. But CIM got de-registered as know subsequently.

Despite the numerous items on the agenda, a couple of new resolutions in the wisdom of chiefly BF and her deacons got included - ie. powers to discipline and remove membership based on a variety of factors among which is failure to pay tithes and make offerings!! If implemented, all must henceforth use cheques, bankers' cheques and marked notes. May I now ask why the plan to build a 5000 seating capacity CCC when we got presented a resolution to throw out members on technicality and leadership's whims and fancies. The answer is simple - the leadership wants dumb sheep and worshippers who can give. Sad for the Fillipinas and foreign workers searching for a sanctuary. Someone has said the practices are more and more resembling a cult and I am beginning to agree.

As a direct consequence of past meetings to gloss over issues, for the first time the membership are now shown accounts in which about 50% of a ringgit cheerfully and sacrificially given are spent on stipends(salaries and allowance). Take in all the other expenses, you got very little left to carry out worthy programmes.

Please attend the AGM and vote correctly if you wish to see a change for the Glory of His Kingdom

At the EGM I stood up to ask a question why funding of extended ministries are from CC but when they earn money and have surplus, these extended ministries are not required to transfer back money to HQ (ie CC). In the private sector money earned by subsidiaries is channelled back to the Holding Company.

I remember Task Force answered it is not required of extended ministries to return surplus.

So thank you RIDDLE-ME-THIS for your comments because it means I am not the solo member who is concerned about 1 way traffic - ONLY IN, NO EXIT of funds. How sad when we need to borrow from bank and yet surplus money is in the hands of those running some extended ministries

Much has been said, some good, some bad. Much frustration has been vented too. Now is the time to be silent and pray and seek God's wisdom on many pressing matters. On Friday, vote wisely, vote objectively, without fear, without favour for ANY man, nor any group.

Dear member,

Questions asked is not whether the extended ministries should transfer the money back to the main church. But the main question is, WHY do these ministries have a surplus? Look at how much they have received in the year? You mean, all these extended ministries are self-supporting that they do not need anymore money from the main church anymore? if that is the case, why are they receiving support from the main church?

If that is not the case, then what is, then I don't know why there is a surplus in the extended ministries.

For all I know, some of these extended ministries are very poor and are always looking for sponsorships!

Hi, there seems to be too much smog clouding the issue's in CC. Bro & Sis of CC hurling insults and allegations to each other in public for all to see. Everyone blaming the other for the split that we currently have.
I am of the opinion that everything happens for a reason, whether good or bad. Everybody deserves a chance for repentance and forgiveness not from man but from God. We all should be servants of christ just has Jesus was. We are here to serve and humble ourselves to the expansion of christ church. Sadly, I do not see this in CC especially with the current church leaders and pastors.
" Love it was that made us and love it was that saved us "
Lets all be responsible voters in the coming AGM - call to action, vote for change instead of waiting for Jesus himself to come down and clear this mees that we helped create.

A VM that wants change from worldly glory to Gods glory in CC. Servants instead of Masters.

Tears of remorse are not tears of repentance.

I am sure Judas also wept, but his tears were tears of remorse. He did not repent - he was just SORRY..and he ended up hanging himself!

Tears of repentance are signs of godly sorrow. The Bible says, godly sorrow leads to repentance. And once there is true repentance, the fruit of repentance will follow.

Sad to say, I see no fruit of repentance resulting from PG1's tears and public statement of , "If I have [hurt anyone] I am sorry..." He was just sorry he was losing control of the whole situation...! He was probably VERY sorry that his days as senior pastor-cum-dictator are numbered!

Let us VOTE the Guneratnams OUT!
Time to vote out the yes-men & yes-women of BOD!
It's time for CHANGE!
VOTE FOR TRUTH & TRANSPARENCY!
VOTE FOR ACCOUNTABILITY!
VOTE FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS & JUSTICE!

A VOTE OF THANKS AND APPRECIATION to the TTG for your tireless efforts in working hard (storming the gates of hell!)to save Calvary Church and to bring much-needed changes.

The past one-and-a-half years had not been easy for you guys, I'm sure, but you persevered. Thank the Lord for giving you stamina, faith, good health and patience.

The Lord bless you and your families, and keep you in His Love, His grace and His favour.

Tears & Apologies?

If they are SiNCERE let's accept from PG & BOD.
HOWEVER, this should not be accepted as let by gone be by gone, as if nothing has ever happened.

PG & BOD, as any honorable person would, what more that they are in leadership, take Responsibility and accept ACCOUNTABILITY by resigning.

In the Garden of Eden, God meted out the CONSEQUENCES both Adam & Eve have to face after they sinned, even when they felt sorry for their willful disobedience. (only after being found out! And they had thought they could hide from God)

Never forget God is Sovereign, not Superintendents or Pastors or Deacons or anyone in the world for that matter.

DON'T CRY TO ME AND FOLD YOUR HANDS - YOU ACT - SAID GOD TO MOSES!
(WORK & FAITH ARE TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN)

I am not in KL but with you in spirit for the election this Friday.

I just want to pick on two items written in the blog.

1."Without question, it is also far better for the servant, that God use his people to remove His servant, rather than for God to remove His servant Himself."

I totally believe this. YOU MUST ACT - YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FUTURE OF CALVARY.

When Moses cried to God for help when he and his people encountered the Red Sea, God told Moses not to cry to Him but to ACT by faith. (See Throne Life in you-tube).

Once you have done all that is within your ability - you can leave the consequences in God's hands. NOW! - reverently speaking "the ball is in His court!" He will divinely remove rogue leaders.

2. "Over the months, members have been bombarded with messages that warn members against touching God’s anointed and messages that have questioned our allegiance and brought on fears. Be comforted that our God is a God of peace and wisdom".

Don't let the "demon" of 'touching the Lord's anointed' paralize you from making decisions. I have been at odds with rogue Christian leaders from the day I became a Christian (a student in Scotland) and later in Malaysia! I have "touched the Lord's anointed" many times and witnessed His power. If I was wrong to touch the Lord's anointed - how is it that the Lord continues to proof His faithfulness. In fact - it is because I acted (in faith) - the Lord continues to bless because He always blesses WORKS (actions) done in Faith.

I am no perfect son, in fact, "I am the worst of sinners" - but God continues to honour faith. Faith is the key - all God wants is your faith and you do not have to worry that He will rain curses upon you as long as you act in faith and vote wisely.

VOTE WISELY

This is the DAY OF DECISION.

Use your vote wisely. If you want Calvary Church to become that church that honours God and not a church that mis-uses the funds contributed by self-sacrificing members, VOTE PG1 and his family OUT!

Calvary Church belongs to God and NOT to the Guneratnam Dynasty!

We shall know said...

Behold, God will make all things new for Calvary Church with Truth Transparency & Godly Governance from this day forth.

CALVARY TODAY said...

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Much has been revealed. Much has been said. Tonight we pray for a closure to our church's saga which has gone on long enough.

Amen

To whom it may concern.

Please be informed that a resolution has been passed during the Calvary Church 2009 AGM (last night) demanding the closure of this site and others (which are of not my concern) by 22nd of June 2009. It is your choice (if you are not the member of Calvary Church) to heed the calling or otherwise as our constitution has no right to impose on you.

Since this site has brought to me awareness of many things I have so conveniently ignore, I am indeed grateful of its existence. Initially, I was putting off by negativity from the comment sections. But over time, I could sense that you have tried hard to regulate and have been fair in most occasions. Whether the reports and comments are negative or positive in nature, I always place them before God. I can now remember many whom I do not personally acquaintance in prayer for the good words or otherwise they so uttered in this blog without having to face the superficiality of men. I pray and hope that you will keep this site alive. TRUTH is for all men to see not conceal till oblivion. Lies only hide behind darkness!

God Bless you.

THE SILLIEST THING

It is the silliest thing
For the doctor to quarrel with his patients
For a private college to quarrel with the students
For company to quarrel with the shareholders
For a shop to quarrel with its customers

BUT
The most stupid of all
Is for the Shepherd to quarrel with his sheep !!

Some pastors are just made that way.
