A Great Present For Jesus

Christmas is a story of giving! As we join millions of Christians around the world to celebrate this special day, we are reminded of the greatest Gift of all and that is, God’s gift of His son, Jesus to us. The Bible gives us a little glimpse of where Jesus really came from in John 1:1-2, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” So the Bible tells us that Jesus is really God Himself in the form of man. Here’s the first Christmas story from the Bible.

Luke 2 : 1- 7 - The Birth of Jesus

"In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

The Bible also records 2 groups of people who came to visit Jesus to celebrate His birthday.

1. Luke 2: 8-20 - The Shepherds and the Angels

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

2. Matthew 2 : 1-12 - The Visit of the Magi

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."
When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written: " 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.'"

Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route."

What can we learn from the Christmas Story?

Firstly, Jesus’ birth was a supernatural one. He was born out of the ordinary. This shows us that when God does something here on earth, it is always supernatural and out of the ordinary. So we can expect God to do NEW THINGS, in NEW WAYS, with NEW VESSELS or PEOPLE that we never thought of. So expect the unexpected this Christmas.

Secondly, God will reveal His plans to people according to His will and when He does, the only response He expects is WORSHIP. The shepherds left their flock to worship Him. The Magi went through great lengths to find Him. Both brought gifts according to their means or what they could afford to give Jesus. So does Jesus expect more from us than what we can afford? No, He only wants us to give Him what we have and bring it to Him with a heart of worship.

Thirdly, even King Herod with all his earthly power and authority is no match for our God because God turned the hearts of the Magi to obey Him alone. So no matter what position a man holds or what authority he has over others, he can never stop the plan of God for us. We need to fear and obey God alone and not man. Our duty is to worship God alone and not man.

How do we express our worship and what presents do we give to Jesus this Christmas?
In fact, how are we to give our presents to Jesus?

Matthew 25 : 34 – 40

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' "

The above passage from the Bible, tells us how we are to give our presents to Jesus and to whom Jesus says are His representatives to receive presents on His behalf. So this Christmas, let us all pray and ask Jesus to open our eyes and help us to see those whom He would really want us to give to. Let’s take a closer look at who Jesus said would represent Him to receive our gifts.

Can we identify some of these people in our midst this Christmas?

1. The hungry for both the physical and spiritual food.
2. The thirsty for both the physical and spiritual refreshing.
3. The stranger who has no home, family and friends.
4. The poor who need clothes to keep warm.
5. The sick and those needing care.
6. The prisoner or the lonely who needs visitation.
7. The widows and the orphans.

Let’s be wise and bring our presents to Jesus by giving to the right people whom Jesus would identify with. This Christmas, let’s make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate around us. It will be a great present for Jesus.

God Bless and Have a Very Blessed Christmas!

Yes, God loves those who love those who are indeed forgotten by the mainstream...the downtrodden.. the misunderstood by society..the poor..the lame in body. Much indeed needs to be done.
Sometimes at times like now, even a brand NEW SOUP KITCHEN would do to soothe the hearts and minds of these who suffer..

Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year to all Brothers and Sisters in Christ ! We await and welcome the New Year 2010 with great anticipation, the many more miracles that Almighty God would wrought, the many more doors that He would open, the many more prayers that He would answer, the many more responses that He would give to our cries for help relating to CC, CCC and other related issues ! May we all, with joy in our hearts, continue testify of His Greatness ! Especially during our Watch Night service. God bless !

The Holy Bible says that when we give our offerings, we should not boast, like the Pharasees, to the whole world to know that we so and so are giving, AND how much we are giving. Yet, recently SP did another wrong illustration of a "testimony" of giving. Simply nauseating. Why no example of a poor person giving his/her small sum of money ? Doesn't God a[ppreciate that sacrifice too, SP ?

TRICKERY on GIVING at Christmas Eve.

A member who felt so sad over what was preached by PG, shared this:
" In his ( PG) preaching, he spoke fervently on giving again. He even collected a 2nd offering for CCC. He said he only decided on that day to collect the 2nd offering. Does sound familiar.

After his preaching, he informed the church that they have not abandoned the CC but it will be completed. The most terrible thing he said was that there is a 'satanic kingdom' against them in building the CCC, a great Kingdom of God."

ALL I could console my bro. is that PG is a CON man. This '2nd Offering' trick has been used over & over again by him-- he always make it seemed as "prompted" when he has already pre-planned to carry out.

And his "GIVE, GIVE< GIVE $$$".. well, this is already so well 'documented' in the blog by all & sundries. In short, PG, preaches NOTHING else except: Faith=Giving, Giving=Faith!
It is blatantly clear PG is interested only in how much is in the Offering bags to ensure his & Wife& Children's salaries are secured.

As for the 'Satanic kingdom' PG knows best--bec. he started the CCC with a BIG LIE, and since then lies after lies follow.

Beware! how can CCC be a "great Kingdom of God"??? ( Jesus said, the Kingdom of God is in Us.)
-Never in a grand monster of brick & mortar that CCC is-- a wanton waste of RM hundred Millions.

Give our $$$ wisely said...

Not surprised at all. PG will take every opportunity to collect $$$. How can he let a once a year celebration go by without taking advantage of it? What better time to ask people to give than Christmas time?

Watch out, watch night service goers. To PG, you show your gratefulness to God by emptying your wallet. I will be most surprised if there is NO 2ND OFFERING.

Pray for wisdom in giving. Heed CT's write up. Give to people who really need help. Feed the poor. Support the small church pastors and pastors serving in the interior jungle of M'sia. Buy things for these pastors' children. School is starting soon, help these pastors to buy school books and uniforms for their children. They really need our help and encouragement.

Ask not, for you are supposed to act in great faith ... You should know by now you have no right to ask, just give, like the "legal advice" from the BOD appointed lawyer !

Deja vu, my friends !

Gone into the white elephant of Calvary Land,

WHERE HAS ALL THE MONIES GONE?...
Gone into the Black Hole of CCC

WHERE HAS ALL THE MONIES GONE?...
Gone into the 'Jet-set' lifestyle of PG& PG2

WHERE HAS ALL THE MONIES GONE?...
Gone into the FAT SALARIES of PG& Family

WHERE HAS ALL THE MONIES GONE?
All Gone down the drain!

When will they ever repent,

"A Fool is Born every day"
well, well, that's what PG counts on since the expose' of his deceptive ways.

Any wonder why he is so ever eager to get all who knows his history to get out of CC. These PIONEER Members are like a thorn in his flesh. But, nothing he can do, because God put them there.

Thank God for discerning members in the TTG Cause.

Copying the gross commercialisation of Christmas in the shopping malls/shopping centres all over the materialistic world, our socalled religious leaders never fail to grab the golden opportunity apparently to have collections - gift wrapped in the trendy branding as "love offerings". Famous English legend has it that Robbn Hood robbed the rich to help the poor, by distributing wealth to the needy. However, in today's contemporary trendy Kay El, in a certain religious community, it seems fashionable "to rob the poor to enrich the rich." "What sort of rich ?", you ask. Mentally picture well established contractors, lawyers, architects, visting foreign priests, overpaid locals, even a HK superstar who owns a gym network besides a diamond processing plant and overseas properties ! So now you know ...

Why not ?

"Tis the season to be joyful,
tis the season to be thankful,
tis the season to be give thanks,
...
Tis the season to give ...

Who dare to argue with such logic and truth coming from the pulpit, right ?

And to ensure the congregation give AND GIVE, there are TWO, repeat TWO ROUNDS of collection that recent church service !

Where and for what purpose the money collected from the congregation (including visitors who are members of public), nobody really knows, except of course for the trusted inner circle of you know who's.

Are you awake now, brothers and sisters ?

Sow in good soil said...

We are often taught that we reap what we sow. Someone once shared this to me that we should also sow/give to GOOD SOIL, then we shall reap good fruits for God's Kingdom.
Giving to God's Kingdom is like an investment. Surely when we make an investment, we would try to make sure that we invest into something that has GOOD returns.
Let us be wise to sow to Good Soil so that the fruit from the good soil can grow well. The parable of the Sower tells us NOT to sow where the grounds are thorny, stony.........

The Fox and its sly moves said...

"Search & Rescue Mission", I'm not at all surprise with what PG has done and can do. These are all old tricks which only the new and "blinded" (or those choose to be blinded) Calvary Church goers would believe in and allow themselves to be conned.

Continue to pray for the bros & sis who fight for Truth, Transparency and Good Governance in the church. Pray that the Lord's protection would be upon them and their loved ones.

"Give our $$$ wisely", I agree with you that there'll definitely be a "unplanned" (PG's version) 2nd collection during the watch night service. And the message from PG would be the same; "Give, and you would be blessed." What a fox!

Money3 PG's world... said...

Money, money, money it's PG's world,
Oh ho, Oh ho....it's PG's world!

It never ends, more and more of PG's call for offerings. Now is the best season to fleece the lambs!

All PG's gang and his puppeteers(BOD)are also doing the same...using their puppets to get innocent members and the public unawares of their tricks to give generously to CCC.

PG still claims that CCC will be completed when he knows fully well they don't have the monies but appealing to everyone that come by their way.

In recent news article of CC Christmas service, they claim that the SP will be "giving a heart- warming message" at the service. Perhaps it is meant to warm you up so that you will open your wallets and purses to give towards what the SP is asking you to do.

CC leadership and BOD still want to protray SP as a good pastor but actually, the truth is something completely opposite... money, money, money is all in his mind!!

PG has no heart for the sheep.. he is only concerned for what you can give financially towards his own cause, not about your spiritual well being or for God's kingdom, but it is about his own world and for his comfort and reputuation.

Money, money, money it's PG's world!! Oh ho, oh ho.....it's a rich pastor's world!

CC members and the public please open your eyes and be discerning of what is happening in Calvary Church. There is a lot of deception and cover ups. Please make sure you give your money to the deserving and needy people not to CC pastors and their sham projects!

THINK ABOUT IT

If properly 'Dissected', over 90% of ALL the OFFERINGS taken from the Congregation goes to wasteful/ballooning Expenditure & Non-performing Extended Ministries ( lots of claims & purchases of sorts) but hardly any work of substance to show--No real & genuine Kingdom's work in the Harvest Field, but all 'feel good' & superficial programmes/projects with personal Agenda.

THINK THRICE not TWICE
when you want to give another dime
and when PG ask you to give till it hurts.

Right to Know:DENIED said...

TAKE 2:
After his preaching, he informed the church that they have not abandoned the CCC but it will be completed

What WISHY-WASHY statement!

Please get ANSWERS for the following:
1. When will the REAL completion date be?
( as of to-date, no EGM called to brief Members of
the implications & consequences of the "fired"(?)/
"terminated"(?) Main Contractor)

AND who are New Appointees? How & When were these decided? Without Members Knowledge & Approval?

2. Which part of the CCC Complex ( which consist of various Blocks) will be completed? Just the Hall?
For all the MILLIONS spent ( over RM150 million), is that all Members/Public get for their sacrifices and donations?

3. Who are persons held Responsible & Accountable
for the debacle?

What ever happened to all the Big Wits--Project Director-Administrator, Project Chairman? Head of Building Committee? Where are they--have they Absconded?

PG-CEO & BOD treat the Congregation with total disregard of any accountability to them. Absolutely,
outrageous!
